Our featured horse of the month is Alice!

Alice is a big beautiful Clydesdale cross who turns 20 years old this year.

Alice has been at Lancers since she was young, and made quite the impression in the show ring in her younger years. She even went all the way to Florida from Lancers to compete in the jumpers one year.

She continues to impress in the show ring these days, with beginner riders learning the ropes. Alice knows exactly what those ropes are, generally having much more experience than her rider.

In lessons Alice either guesses the exercises and/or understands quite a bit of English because she’s always ready to start whether her rider is or not!

Alice has also been a staple in our Musical Ride, and is one of the leaders this year. She has also stepped into the ring as a most trustworthy mount for our therapeutic riding programs.

Alice still looks and acts like she’s younger than her years and loves her job, so we’re hoping she’ll continue to be the excellent teacher that she is for more years to come.
